Bernice Scheidler (age 94) passed away quietly on September 28, 2023. She is reunited with her husband and lifetime love, Frank Scheidler, who passed away in 2002. Bernice is the daughter of the late Michael Adams and Hildegarde Stuehler Adams. She is survived by 7 children, Frank, Joanne, Lorraine, Thomas, Robert, Bernice and Michael. Her daughter Margie preceded her in death. She was blessed with the partners of her children, Shirley, Judi, Jacqueline, Robert Krandel, Ken Welling and Robert Platt. Bernice has 32 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Bernice is also survived by her two sisters, Lorraine and Ruth. Her sister Hildegarde preceded her in death. Bernice was a deeply religious woman, who’s spirit embodied her love of family and faith. While still raising a family, Bernice worked as an accountant for NAPA before taking a job with Mellon Bank, where she worked for 28 years. After leaving Mellon Bank, Bernice returned to school, graduating from nursing school and working as an RN at St. Margaret’s Hospital, providing support and comfort to her patients and their families. Frank and Bernice retired to Bradenton, Florida in 1992. In Florida, Bernice continued her life of volunteering. She was an active member of St Joseph’s Parish, the Bradenton Boosters and the Salvation Army. She enjoyed her friends in Florida, especially her morning Panera gatherings with her friends group. Bernice will always be remembered as a loving and caring person, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. As children we all remember mom’s dedication to bring the Christmas spirit into our home and our love of Jesus Christ into our hearts. We will always cherish our memories of our mother and father and the home they provided. The family would like to thank Artis Senior Living of South Hills for their three years of care and support for mom and to Gallagher Hospice during her final days. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Church. In lieu of flowers please send donations to: St. Vincent DePaul's Food Pantry, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Attn. Sr. Lois, 2510 Middle Rd. Glenshaw, Pa 15116.
