Constance "Connie" A. Martin

In Constance A. Martin (née McClelland) (Connie) passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025. Connie was born to Mary Louise and James McClelland on January 25,1956, in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended Shaler High School and graduated from Grove City College. Connie was a beloved educator for over 40 years in the Pittsburgh community. She spent much of her career at Winchester Thurston School and most recenttaught at St. Edmund’s Academy. Connie married David B. Martin in 1991 and was a proud and devoted mother to their three children: Daniel, Lizzie, and Megan. In December 2023, she became a grandmother to Rory John Mayes, a role that brought her immense joy. She loved spending time with her family, dear friends, and her pets.

Connie was an exceptionally kind and thoughtful person who made everyone feel like they were her best friend. She never missed a birthday or personal milestone. She left an indelible impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her and will be deeply missed. Connie will be best remembered for her kindness, generosity, devotion to her students, and unwavering love for her family.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Louise and James McClelland, and her husband, David B. Martin. She is survived by her children: Daniel Ryan Martin (Erin), Elizabeth Ann Mayes (Connor), and Megan Catherine Martin; her grandson, Rory John Mayes; her sister, Mimi Lamb (Bill); and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends.

The family will receive friends at Hampton Presbyterian Church (2942 E HARDIES RD GIBSONIA, PA 15044) on Friday, February 7, 4pm-7pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 1:00pm at Hampton Presbyterian Church.
