Dolores M. “Dee” Nichols (Strohm), of Glenshaw, born December 30, 1939, and died peacefully in her 86th year on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Highland Hills nursing facility in the North Hills. Predeceased by her loving husband Dr. William R. Nichols, parents Lester and Eleanor Strohm (Philips), and brother Bill. Stepmother to Bob (Heather){Toronto, Canada}, Bruce (Maureen){Plant City, Florida} and Beth (Don){Jacksonville, Florida}. She was a Grandma to nine and Great-grandma to six, as well as Aunt to three nieces and nephews. A 1957 Shaler High School grad and longtime resident of the North Hills, Dee worked for a time as a secretary and dental assistant. She loved to sing and act in musical theatre. She was an active member of Glenshaw Players for many years. It’s also where she met her future husband. Retirement years were spent with friends and family in Glenshaw and Ft. Myers, Florida. During the winter, she and Bill loved to travel by cruise ship with a group of friends known as the ‘Party Pelicans’. Their colorful T-shirts were hard to miss. Friends and family will be received on Friday March 7 from 10 AM to12 PM at Bock Funeral Home, Ltd. 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd, Glenshaw and a celebration of Dee’s life will occur thereafter. Interment to follow at Mt. Royal Cemetery mausoleum. Thanks to the nurses and hospice staff with the Allegheny Health Network who cared for Dee in her final days. And heartfelt thanks to Jill Ahearn, who provided so much care and companionship to Dee in the year’s following Bill’s death.
