Gloria “Jean” (Weigand) Claus, age 83, of Glenshaw, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on May 20, 2024. Loving mother of Thomas (Erin) Claus, Mary Ann (David) Raible, Peggy (Michael) Yakich, Jeffrey Claus and beloved pup Rosie. Loving grandmother of Jennifer (Dave) Schmitz, Justin (Sarah) Claus, Lauren (Tom) Kozlowski, Julie Claus, Samantha (Steven) Giel, Kristin Yakich, Jacob Raible and Michael Yakich and great-grandmother of Mackenzie Schmitz, Emily and Morgan Jean Claus, Adam Giel, Colton and Easton Kozlowski; dear sister of James (Carol) Weigand; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Jim, her parents Albert and Helen Weigand and although she was her aunt, she was thought of as her dear sister, Dolores “Babe” Bold. Jean was everyone’s favorite mom on the block, often remembered for blasting “Boston” with the windows wide open while cleaning the house or taking her one of many morning and evening walks. Jean was an avid reader, no matter where life took her, she had her book. Jean was always up for a lunch date or a movie with family and friends. The family is eternally grateful for the loving and compassionate care she received while under the care of Bridges Hospice, especially Leslie and Eliza, as well as the care from Home Helpers and especially toward the end, Warm Angels Home Care. Friends will be received Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd. 1500 Mount Royal Blvd. Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at St. Matthew Parish, All Saints Church, Etna at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the charity of your choice or some of Jean’s favorite charities, American Heart Association, Animal Friends, St. Jude Hospital for Children or Bridges Hospice.
