Jeanne Louise Lake Frederick

Jeanne Louise Lake Frederick passed away quietly in her sleep early Monday, January 30, 2023 with family at her bedside just as she had hoped.  Born of Alfreda Pauline Atkison. and Louis Hiram Lake (from Sewickley) on April 22, 1931, Jeanne grew up in Etna and was still lunching with her childhood friends and high school classmates last month.  Jeanne was beloved of John Calvin Frederick, for 70 years.  John died in December 2017. Jeanne worked for 40 years at the Pittsburgh Railways Company/Port Authority.  She was a supervisor and answered calls giving directions.  She knew street names for the rest of her life.  Last month, while having severe chest pains, as an ambulance was taking her to Passavant ER she told them that they had made a wrong turn and she told them which roads to take to arrive quickly. For her ninetieth birthday party friends from her antiquing days and sports car club days (with John) as well as Etna high school classmates joined family and more recent friends and companions to celebrate. Jeanne is survived by John’s family of six nieces and a nephew; dear cousins, Mary Louise Dietrich Ford and the Clarion Fredericks, Bucky (wife Jean) Frederick and Althea Lewis. She was grateful for neighbors and strangers who became friends and helpers; for workmen James Bigler and Richard Susko, who became dedicated caretakers extraordinaire, for her new friends from Punxsutawney, friends from the earliest years, and for family members and all those who have remained faithful friends. Jeanne asks that “as you leave the cemetery, sing You are my sunshine very loud so that I can hear you.” There will be no visitation.  The service and interment will be private.  Burial will be in East Union Cemetery, West Deer Twp.  Arrangements by BOCK FUNERAL HOME, Ltd. Glenshaw
