Judy Tappe

Judy Tappe, age 73, of Shaler Twp. on the evening of Friday November 29, 2024 died peacefully surrounded by her family. Judy was the loving wife of Richard C Tappe, Jr, her high school sweetheart, for 53 years. She was the loving mother of Richard M. (Tammy) Tappe, Carrie (Doug) Schreiber and Renee (Jason) Mertz. Affectionally known as Grammie to her 10 grandchildren, Tyler, Logan, Connor, Trista, Ian, Jack, Carter, Coleman, Hayden and Nolan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Vera Drwal, her brothers Henry (surviving wife, Patricia) Drwal and Robert (surviving wife, Jan) Drwal and her step-father, Richard. She was survived by many other loving step-siblings, nieces and nephews. Judy was a dedicated mom and grandmother, who loved to spend time shopping for shoes, vacationing with her husband and family and attending her grandchildren’s activities. When diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2015, she became a fierce advocate for others with this same disease. Grammie’s Warriors (grandchildren) inspired her to never give up. Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM and Wednesday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd. 1500 Mount Royal Blvd. Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bonaventure Church, St. Matthews Parish, Glenshaw on Thursday at 10 AM.
