Katherine “Katie” Gaydos, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katherine Gaydos, who left this world on September 12, 2024, in Pittsburgh, PA following a battle with cancer. Born on August 2, 1956, in Washington, PA, Katie’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and the simple joys found in everyday moments. Katie, known for her warm heart and gentle spirit, was the daughter of Maureen Minetti and Daryl Amos, who preceded her in death. She shared 68 beautiful years with those blessed enough to know her, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith. Katie was a loving mother to her sons, Gary White and his wife Melinda, and Gerald White and his wife Leah. Her love for her family was boundless, and she found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Hailey (Julian Avolia), Emma, Maura, and Miles White. Her great-grandson, Levi White, brightened her days and brought her endless smiles. A dedicated florist for many years, Katie’s talent for creating beauty was seen in every bouquet she crafted. Her passion for flowers was only rivaled by her love for reading her bible, a daily practice that nourished her soul and guided her throughout her life. Katie found pure joy in spending time with her grandchildren, often filling the air with laughter and love during their moments together. Her infectious laughter and the warmth of her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of Katie’s life will be held at Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw on Sunday at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice.
