Marienne Auld DeYo

Marienne Auld DeYo, Age 92, of Hampton Twp., Passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023. She was the beautiful and loving wife of Arthur C. DeYo, Jr., who died in 1996. She was a very special mom to Susie (Rick) Gilch, Stevie (Jerry) Black, and Stacey DeYo. She was also a very much-loved grandma to Nate (Wendy) Gilch, Joshua (Kristen) Gilch, Meghan (Nate) Carll, and Mandy (Kevin) Train. She was tickled to be “Gigi” to six great-grandkids, Landon and Emma Gilch, Warren and Evelyn Carll, Finley Train, and Abigail Gilch. Marienne was a much-loved aunt to her 2 nieces, Valerie Auld (Don) Beyerl and Melanie Auld (Don) Eggers. Marienne and Art met at Hampton High School, and she graduated from Westminster College and then taught 4th grade. She later worked as a substitute teacher. She loved singing in the choir at Parkwood Church and some community choirs, and she also sang beautiful solos at weddings and in nursing home programs for the residents. She spent the last four years at The Haven of North Hills, a wonderful facility and received loving care from a dedicated staff who really took care of all of us. In the last month Gateway Hospice added so much to all the care she received. Marienne was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Auld Demchyna and her two brothers, Nelson “Shorty” Auld and George “Gogo” Auld. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 1 to 8 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in Parkwood Presbyterian United Church, Allison Park. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Animal Friends where Marienne adopted her cat and many dogs over the years who were beloved members of the family.
