Merle B. Beyerl

Merle B. Beyerl Sr., 90, of Glenshaw PA, passed away peacefully on August 15th, 2024. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Merle was born in Glenshaw, PA and was a 1951 Graduate of Shaler High School and served in the US Navy aboard the battleship USS New Jersey. He was a Master carpenter who ran his own sub-contracting business. He also worked in later life for Madia Homes as a handrail expert and was well known for his many beautiful staircases. He was a lifetime Parishioner of St. Bonaventure Church and Men’s Club, a long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, DeHaven Baseball Coach, Shaler Soccer Coach, North Hills Senior Softball league, as well as North Hills bowling and golf leagues. Preceded in death by his wife Marlene of 61 years, he is survived his sons Merle (Donna) and Mark (Amy), His grandchildren Allison (Michaelangelo) Dejulio, Collin, Kristin, Austin, and Mia Beyerl. He had two step great grandchildren Blake and Addy. Also survived by: Joan (late Ed) Gahagan, Don (Valerie) Beyerl, and Marlene (late Dave) Curley. Also Preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Antionette Beyerl and his siblings; Larry (surviving Elaine), Bobby, and Lee, Beyerl. Friends will be received to celebrate Merle’s life on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in St. Matthews Parish, St. Bonaventure Church, Glenshaw. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Sharpsburg Cemetery.
