Phyllis Marie Hwostow

Phyllis Marie (Varlotto) Hwostow, age 83, formerly of Hampton Township, PA, passed away on October 21, 2024, while under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford, PA. Born November 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose Varlotto and was preceded in death by her sister Joan Hudak and husband Anthony Hwostow. Phyllis was the mother to Leonard (Katy) Hwostow, Christina (Andy) Prishack and Susan (Andy) Lordi and the grandmother to Lauren, Lucas, Bryce, Ben and Lexi. A special thanks to her niece Rosanne Warman who cared for and supported Phyllis and her family through this difficult journey. Phyllis graduated from LaRoche College with a major in Interior Design which led to her building a successful design business that she thoroughly enjoyed. Phyllis loved to sit at the North Park Boathouse and draw for hours. Phyllis was a proudly independent person who adored her kids and grandkids. A private family memorial will be held when she is laid to rest next to her husband at the Allegheny County Memorial Park.
