During the last seven years of his life, he was lovingly cared for by Riquetta (Ricki) Brown and the wonderful staff at Sunrise of McCandless. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews who revered him as the patriarch of the family. Rick had a long and distinguished public service career, first as a policeman in Etna Borough for 17 years, then as an administrative assistant to the local incumbent state representative prior to running for and winning his seat. He went on to serve constituents of the 30th legislative district for 24 years. During his tenure with the PA General Assembly, he rose to prominence as the Majority Whip of the Republican Party and also served as Majority Chair of the Transportation Committee.
