Heaven is understandably rejoicing at the arrival of Rita Jones who died peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024 at the age of 94. Waiting to embrace her as she met God and took her first steps into Heaven were her beloved husband of 68 years, Vince "Buns" Jones, their infant son Gerard "Jerry" Jones and their grandsons Ben and Chris Moyer. Rita was the daughter Catherine and Casper Starsnic, and the 11th of 12 children. Her brothers were Frank, Michael, Victor and Paul; and sisters Josephine, Ann, Irene, Emma, Mary, Alice and Violet. Rita is survived by her children Kathy (Robin) Moyer, Tom (Karen) Jones and Mary Ellen (John) Benty, along with loving grandchildren Nick (Emily) Moyer, Julie (Jim) McDermott, Jessica (Scott) Klugh, Jared (Laura) Jones, Laura (Michael) Francis, Roman Benty and Mariana Moyer. She cherished her husband, children, grandchildren and precious great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Rita and Buns were lifelong residents of Etna, PA. They met at and graduated from Etna High School. They were active, dedicated volunteers of the Etna Community. Rita was an employee of the H.J. Heinz Company, a faithful co-worker in the office Fr. Bertin Roll -Director of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers and the Shaler Area School District. A woman of great Faith, Rita was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church (St. Matthew Parish), where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and a devoted member of the Christian Mothers and Ladies of Charity. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw, PA 15116. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024 in St Matthew Parish- All Saints Church, 19 Wilson Street, Etna PA 15223 (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Interment at the cemetery will be held privately. Rita's children want to thank the dedicated caregivers at Mount Assisi Place in Bellevue for their love, care and concern for Rita during her later years.
