William J. "Chip" Connelly

William J. “Chip” Connelly, passed away peacefully from the effects of multiple strokes on Thursday February 6, 2025. Born August 1, 1954 in Pittsburgh to William James Jr. and Jean (Wykoff) Connelly. Chip is survived by his beloved son William John “Liam” Alker-Connelly and his mother Elaine Alker and her parents Janet and Jack Alker, his sisters Kathleen (the late Michael) Murphy and Marcy (David) Gookin. He was a wonderful uncle to nieces Ann (Dawn Callahan) and Katherine (Bennett Krejci) Gookin and nephews Phillip Hubbard and David (Grace Hoffman) Gookin. Chip was a 1973 graduate of The Governor’s Academy in S. Byfield MA and then graduated from Penn State University where he received a degree in landscape architecture and was a varsity letterman in lacrosse. A creative producer of television sports shows, public broadcasts as well as musical concerts. Chip worked for WQED Television as well as Velocity World Media. For many years, Chip was the Lacrosse Coach for the Shaler Area School District. Friends will be received on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Bock Funeral Home, Ltd. 1500 Mount Royal Blvd. Glenshaw where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, kindly send donations to the Humane Animal Rescue, 6926 Hamilton Ave. Pgh PA 15208 or to Governor’s Academy, 1 Elm Street, S. Byfield MA 01922. Finally, Free to roam.
